Paint & Boba Setup

Paint & Boba is our signature guided painting experience. Guests follow along with our Master Artist Pinghui Ren while enjoying a boba or fruit tea. Each ticket is $45 per person and includes all art supplies plus one regular size fruit tea or boba tea. Sessions are 3 hours, though customers can stay until close to finish their artwork. Typical schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 2:00 PM. Customers book at ncmuse.co/paint.

What's included in the $45 ticket:

  • Professional guidance from Pinghui Ren (Master Artist)
  • 1 regular size fruit tea or boba tea
  • All art supplies (canvas, paints, brushes)
  • Comfortable painting space
  • Apron provided
  • Take your artwork home
  • Stay until close to finish

We also offer Sit and Paint -- a self-guided option for guests who want to paint at their own pace without an instructor. See the Sit and Paint section below.

This guide walks through everything you need to do before, during, and after a Paint & Boba event.

Before the Event (Start 1 Hour Early)

1. Prepare the Space

  • Clear tables and wipe them down
  • Lay plastic table covers on every table guests will use
  • Set up easels at each station (one per seat)
  • Arrange chairs so guests have room to move their arms while painting

2. Set Up Each Station

Every guest station needs the following supplies laid out and ready:

ItemNotes
Canvas (1)Place on easel, centered
Acrylic paint setFull set, check that all colors have paint
Brush setAt least 3 sizes (small, medium, large)
PaletteClean, no dried paint from last session
Water cupFilled about 3/4 with clean water
Paper towelsSmall stack of 4-5 sheets
ApronFolded neatly at the seat

TIP

Do a quick walk-through of every station before doors open. It is much easier to catch a missing brush now than during the event.

3. Prepare for Drink Service

Each ticket includes one drink. Before guests arrive:

  • Print or have the drink menu visible at each table or on a central board
  • Prep boba ingredients (cook tapioca pearls if not already done)
  • Make sure the tea station is stocked and ready
  • Have cups, lids, and straws accessible

4. Set Up Check-In

  • Open staff.ncmuse.co and navigate to the event check-in page
  • Pull up the guest list for tonight's event
  • Have a tablet or laptop at the entrance for scanning tickets or looking up names

INFO

Guests may show a QR code from their confirmation email, or you can search by name. Both methods work from the staff portal check-in screen.

During the Event

Staff Responsibilities

  • Check-in: Greet guests at the door, verify tickets, direct them to open stations
  • Drink orders: Take drink orders shortly after guests settle in, deliver drinks to tables
  • Assist: Walk the room and help guests who need extra supplies (more paper towels, fresh water, brush replacements)
  • Support the instructor: The artist instructor leads the painting session. Staff should not interrupt the flow, but be available for logistics

Artist Instructor Role

Pinghui Ren (our Master Artist) handles all painting guidance. Staff do not need to teach or demonstrate painting techniques. Focus on hospitality -- drinks, comfort, and a smooth experience.

After the Event

Paintings need time to dry before guests can take them home.

  • Remember: guests can stay until close to finish, so not everyone leaves at the 3-hour mark
  • Let canvases sit on easels for 15-20 minutes after the session ends
  • While paintings dry, begin collecting used palettes and brushes
  • Offer guests bags or protective sleeves for transporting their artwork
  • Follow the full Event Cleanup procedures once guests leave

WARNING

Do not stack or lean wet canvases against each other. Acrylic paint smears easily when wet and will ruin the artwork.
